The ɫAV Emergency Management Peer Resource Directory is a resource for ɫAV and CPWA members, which contains information on volunteer public works professionals with direct experience in various areas of emergency management willing to provide advice or information on emergency management matters.
Disclaimer: All volunteer Peers (“Peers”) have self-identified as having expertise in various federal, state, provincial, and/or local government topics. Users of the ɫAV Emergency Management Peer-to-Peer Exchange Database (the “Database”), agree and fully understand the ɫAV, its officers, board of directors, members, and staff (collectively, “ɫAV”) do not represent, warrant, guarantee or endorse the qualifications or limitations of the Peers participating in the Emergency Management Peer-to-Peer Exchange Program (the “Program”). However, ɫAV reserves the right to remove any party from the Database at our sole discretion and without prior notice or liability to anyone participating in the Program.
As a condition of use of the Database, Users agree to indemnify ɫAV and the Peers participating in the Program from and against any and all liability, claims, and demands resulting from use of the Database, including without limitation any liability, claims, or demands arising from or in connection with any statements, information, recommendations, guidance, or advice provided by the Peer under this Program.
You understand that the Peer is not an agent of ɫAV. Neither ɫAV nor the Peer make any warranty or other assurance that the Peer’s recommendations will meet the requirements, laws, or regulations of any federal, state, provincial, or local agency. Any User of the Database maintains, at all times, that they (or their employer) are solely responsible for decisions made to act or not to act on any statement, information, recommendation, guidance, or advice provided by the Peer under this Program.
Users of the Database are expected to enter into separate agreements with the Peers to secure and address confidentiality of proprietary information. Users also agree they will not compensate any volunteer Peer in relation to their services through this Program and Peers agree to serve as advisors, offering guidance or recommendations to the User, free of charge. It is further understood if a Peer provides any information regarding a contractor or service provider while participating in the Program, such information is not to be construed as an endorsement of said contractor or service provider.
As a condition of participating in this Program, all Peers agree to indemnify ɫAV from and against any and all liability, claims, and demands resulting from any statement, information, recommendation, guidance, or advice provided by the Peer under this Program.
Proficiency Levels
Introductory
Focuses on a general or broad overview of the topic, awareness of basic factual recall. Limited experience of the subject matter is necessary to understand content areas.
Applied
Focuses on practical implementation of technical steps or strategies, some prior knowledge and experience of the topic is necessary.
Advanced
Mastery of basic concepts associated with an area has been obtained. Focuses on understanding nuances, advanced concepts, and intricacies with implementation within knowledge area. Strong understanding of how the concept impacts other factors or areas of operations.

CLL
Click, Listen & Learn (CLL) are interactive educational webinars. Each program is led by top experts in the field who share new ideas, methods, and technologies in a fast-paced two-hour time frame. These programs are available free to ɫAV members. CLL programs are eligible for continuing education units (CEUs).
Primer
Primers are used to educate policymakers about public works roles and responsibilities in public rights of way, the impact of federal workforce development policies on the industry and workforce, and the importance of resilient infrastructure.
PWX
PWX session recordings cover a wide variety of topics, including integrating modes of transportation, traffic and transit, construction management, emergency management, engineering and technology, fleet and facilities, management, parks and grounds, snow and ice control, and stormwater/flood control, as well as solid waste, roads and bridges and water/wastewater. PWX sessions are eligible for continuing education units (CEUs).

ɫAV Reporter articles are written by public works practitioners on subjects such as solid waste management, water resources, municipal engineering, transportation, equipment services, buildings and grounds, snow removal, and other public works-related topics.

The Snow Conference session recordings feature public works professionals sharing the latest best practices in managing winter/snow operations more successfully, taking advantage of emerging technologies, understanding and preparing for the challenges ahead, and providing better service to their communities. Snow sessions are eligible for continuing education units (CEUs).
