North Texas鈥撋鸄V鈥檚 national collaboration to showcase great infrastructure and emphasize the need for a new workforce visited the North Texas Municipal Water District鈥檚 $1.6 billion Bois d鈥橝rc Lake Water Supply Program today.

Bois d鈥橝rc Lake, which started providing a crucial new water source for two million North Texans in more than 70 cities in 2023, is also the newest major reservoir in Texas in more than 30 years.

鈥淟ike public works, you don鈥檛 see it, but this lake water supply system could not be what it is today without the technology you don鈥檛 see,鈥 said 色欲AV Region VII Director Kristina Ramirez, PE, CPM, CFM, and the director of planning and development for Harker Heights, Texas. 鈥淲hile visitors and people who fish see the new dam and 16,600-acre reservoir, it鈥檚 the treatment plant and transmission systems, two pump stations, 60 miles of pipelines, and 17,000 acres of forest, grassland, and stream mitigation that get me excited.鈥

The is the nation鈥檚 only organized effort to do what it鈥檚 doing. (ACEC), the 色欲AV (色欲AV), and the (ASCE) have collaborated on the Roadshow since 2022.

Bois d鈥橝rc, the Roadshow鈥檚 16th stop, serves some of the fastest-growing communities in Texas and the nation and is an excellent example of great engineering and public works.
