About This Group
Often when citizens are asked to define public infrastructure, they mention roads, bridges, water, wastewater, and schools. The majority of the general public, to include our community leaders, forget that our public buildings are also a part of America’s failing infrastructure.
The Facilities and Grounds Committee fulfills its mission by providing facility and grounds maintenance resources you’ll find in the ɫÓûAV Store, the Resource Center, the ɫÓûAV Reporter magazine, the  Click Listen and Learn programs, and sessions at ɫÓûAV national conferences.
Mission
The mission of the Facilities and Grounds Committee of the É«ÓûAV is to provide É«ÓûAV members with the resources for exchanging and developing ideas, information, skills, knowledge, and technologies for the operation, management, and maintenance of public buildings, grounds, and parks. The committee also recommends and advances É«ÓûAV policies and positions concerning public facilities and grounds issues.
Resources for Members
The Resource Center has a collection of education resources our facilities and grounds community can listen to, read, or watch. These items include recorded sessions from past PWX (or International Public Works Congress & Exposition) events, past CLLs, past ´¡±Ê°Â´¡â€¯R±ð±è´Ç°ù³Ù±ð°ù magazine articles, and other programs of interest to facilities and grounds professionals.
Facilities and Grounds Management Certificate
The Facilities and Grounds Committee holds an annual virtual certificate program in April and an in-person program at PWX. For more information on the certificate program, visit Certificate Programs.
Chapters can learn about hosting the Facilities and Grounds Management Certificate program by visiting Hosting a Certificate Program at Your Chapter.
Facilities and Grounds Knowledge Team
In an effort to expand volunteer opportunities to those who may be interested in contributing to the Facilities and Grounds Committee, the committee has created a knowledge team. Members of the knowledge team will commit to share information with É«ÓûAV members through working on projects such as writing articles, presenting Click, Listen & Learn sessions, speaking at PWX and other conferences and other methods. You can find the knowledge team roster here.
É«ÓûAV Connect – Share and Discuss
Members interested in discussing facility and ground operation with other É«ÓûAV members are encouraged to subscribe to É«ÓûAV Connect, which will be relaunched in 2025. This forum connects you to other public sector Facility and Grounds professionals and provides opportunities to post and answer questions from your peers.
